New Name and New Employer for RAF Locking Announced

The first employer on the former RAF Locking site was confirmed as the site was re-christened Locking Parklands this month.

Oxford Instruments Plasma technology, a subsidiary of Oxford Scientific Instruments PLC, will be taking 50,000 sq ft of space to house their 170 staff on Locking Parklands. The news is a major step towards the regeneration of the 82 ha brownfield site, on the outskirts of Weston–super-Mare.

The decision came at the same time as the new name for the site was being revealed. ‘Locking Parklands’ has been chosen as it reflects the site’s historic past and mature parkland appearance at the same time as marking the beginning of a new era for the site.

Maybe they have just got into RAF Locking in time to stop it becoming a prison....re: one of your other posts, Tony.

Anyway, it can't become a prison, far to many gaps in the hedges, as I remember.
