Links

We are now linked from the RAF News and RAFLAA, as well as Apprentice sites for 98th, 99th and 104th and also the BISCUITSBROWN ex-service site. Reciprocal links are on our INTRO page. I expect more to follow.

I have also submitted our site to the major search engines, although it can take a long time to get indexed. However, because of the aforementioned links from other established sites, references to our site can already be found in search engines such as GOOGLE, LIVE SEARCH and ASK.

I've just noticed that we HAVE been indexed by YAHOO. A search there for "100th entry locking" places us at the top of the results page! However, this indexing must have been done before the problems with 125MB.COM. Since then, I have had to change some page refs so the 3rd result on the page takes you to 100th-entry-locking.125mb.com/Index.html which doesn't exist any more, but hopefully that will be picked up next time we are spidered.

I have also visited quite a few forums and placed refs to our site, some of which are now showing in search engines.

I see it as a "presence" on the web. If anyone should want to try and find a person or organisation in the world (ex-100th or any other reason), the first place they usually try is a search of the web. For many of us the only result that would be displayed is the 100th ENTRY WEB SITE. This is great if you have any info on there (which the majority of ex-100th don't). There is therefore a small chance that some of the 90 ex-100th that we haven't contacted yet MAY, one day, look for US. Although, judging from the response we have had from the people that HAVE been contacted so far, I won't be holding my breath.
